Department of Physics
National Institute of Technology Calicut
Optofluidics and interface research laboratory had a humble beginning in 2016 with one PhD scholar and a masters student apart from the principal investigator. Driven by curiosity and camera along with capillary tubes, we ventured into the scientific world. At OISL, we explore novel phenomena arising from the combination of interface science and optics with the intention of applying it for future microfluidic devices. OISL has an interdisciplinary background consisting of physicists, chemists mechanical engineers and material scientists. Thanks to the research grants awarded against our proposals, we have now a well-established lab, considering our recent beginning. Now, with a bunch of motivated manpower and a good repertoire of scientific instruments, we are marching towards developing novel ideas and techniques that will be beneficial to the scientific world and humanity in general.
